Angelina Jolie : Fight Against Sexual Violence In Military Conflicts at the G8 Summit in London

The Hollywood Actress was at the G8 summit addressing the need for the international community to pay close attention to women and children of war-zones..

Especially the survivors of sexual violence, She didn't just say things because shes passionate about females, she announced an additional $US36million along side British foreign Secretary of State Mr Hague to the prevention of sexual violence and justice for survivors..

I'd say shes putting her money where her mouth is.. Being a mother of Six Children, both adopted and the ones she bore, Jolie is protecting the future and interest of the lives of her daughters Zahara Marley and Vivienne Marcheline.. And society at large..

According to Herald sun,

For too long, Jolie said, survivors of sexual violence have been "the forgotten victims" of wars in the Middle East, Africa and elsewhere.

"Today, I believe that their voices have been heard," she said alongside Mr Hague, US Secretary of State John Kerry, and others at a meeting of foreign ministers from G-8 nations.

Jolie, who serves as a special envoy for the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, welcomed the "long-overdue stand" on sexual violence, saying that for too long international political will to prevent it has been "sorely lacking."

Sexual violence has been used as a weapon of war in several conflicts, including in Syria, Libya, Bosnia and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Mr Hague said some funding will go toward training military personnel on how to respond to sexual violence, since they are often the first to encounter survivors.

Ministers also pledged to set out international standards for the investigation of rape and sexual violence, as well as to ensure there is no amnesty for sexual violence in peace agreements.

I'd say Attah girl, it doesnt matter how rough you start with life, but how well you make those edges ...
